Ginger
Ginger, as one of the spices, is currently produced in almost all regions of Tanzania; the most pronounced producer regions in order of importance are, Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Kigoma, Coast, Morogoro, Mbeya, Ruvuma, Zanzibar, and Kagera regions.
Cinnamon
Cumin
Cumin are mainly produced in the Tanga, Morogoro and Mbeya regions.
Turmeric
Turmeric, originating from India, reached the coast of China in ad 700 and reached East Africa 100 years later and West Africa 500 years later. Turmeric, in Tanzania mainly produced in the Zanzibar and Tanga regions.
Cardamom
Cardamom is mainly produced in the Tanga, Morogoro and Mbeya regions.
Black pepper

Hibiscus
The most important spice producing area in Tanzania is Zanzibar (the term here is used to cover both the island of Zanzibar , Unguja in Kiswahili as well as Pemba, ZCCFSP to identified four crops (chillies, hibiscus, turmeric, and mango) as priority crop since 1993).
Tamarind
Tanzania Tamarind is known as ukwaju in Swahili and tamarind in English. Tamarind production in Kilimanjaro, Mtwara, Dodoma, and kilwa District. The fruit sometimes are sold in Tanzanian markets and are widely eaten by children.
